The Flourishing Experiment

Louisa Jewell, Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP), joins Kari to “heartstorm” how to be present in your one precious life, take control of rumination, and get clear on your beliefs. Louisa discusses her experience with depression, how a growth mindset can fuel your life, how self-compassion can help you through a difficult time, and how to choose what media to consume to keep a positive mindset. She is especially vulnerable when she shares her divorce experience and how she was self-compassionate during that time. Serena Marie, RD, and Kari talk about hydration during and after running. Kari starts a new segment called Fuel for Your Mind Belt, and she discusses one simple strategy to raise your positivity ratio.

Strongworks owner/trainer Owen Drolet and ultra runner Brent Robertson share how slow-moving weight training has revolutionized their lives. These inspirational gentlemen discuss such topics as having a distraction-free environment, being extremely present to cuing (what the trainer is saying), having a mindset to master yourself rather than the weights, understanding what a grossly inefficient way to train may be, explaining why not to chase reps, exploring the ability to trigger muscle groups, and taking on a mindset of “you versus you”. Serena Marie, RD, and Kari discuss how to reintroduce foods after following an elimination or reset diet. The ladies also give updates on their running journeys.
